Obituary, Donald D. Wadleigh

Massena NY – Donald D. Wadleigh, 69, of Highland Road, formerly of Raymondville, peacefully passed away early Wednesday Morning (March 22, 2017) under the care of hospice surrounded by his loving family.

There will be no public calling hours. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Raymondville Cemetery with full military honors.

Donald was born May 24, 1947 in Potsdam, NY, the son of the late Loren and Dorothy (Furnace) Wadleigh. He attended Norwood-Norfolk Central School and upon graduation joined the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged after three years. At one time Donald worked at the Wassaic Developmental Center as a Mental Therapy Aide for many years. He cherished the time he spent with his family and was a collector of anything that had to do with Elvis. In his younger years, he enjoyed going out dancing.

Donald is survived by his three sisters, Dawn Delight and husband Howard Paro of Norfolk, Jeanette and husband Barry Beggs of Norfolk, and Frieda Dissottle of Massena; a brother, Robert and wife Gina Wadeligh of Washington State; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Don is predeceased by a niece, Robyn Reynolds; a nephew, Robert “Bubba” McGregor II; a great nephew, John Butler; a great niece Kayla Dissottle; 2 great-great nephews, Brayden and Bobby Murray.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Robyn McGregor for the care she gave to Donald at her home for the past couple of years.
