Berkshire Taconic Announces Second Round of 2017 Deadlines for Northeast Dutchess County

 

Sheffield, Mass. — Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation today announced the second round of deadlines for competitive grants in 2017. Regional nonprofits and students are invited to apply for funding during the spring grants cycle from April through June.

 

FOR NONPROFITS

The Northeast Dutchess Fund supports nonprofits, public agencies or community organizations that serve  the residents of Amenia, Clinton Corners, Dover Plains, Millbrook, Millerton, North East, Pine Plains, Stanford, Washington, Wassaic and Wingdale. Grants of up to $3,000 will be awarded. Applications are due April 15.

The Wassermann-Streit Y’diyah Memorial Fund supports educational projects about Judaism that aim to dispel religious prejudice, bias and intolerance. Grants of $500 will be awarded. Applications are due April 1.

 

FOR STUDENTS

The Alice B. Henriquez Memorial Fund Writing Prize was established to encourage young people to use their writing and analytical skills to address contemporary issues. This year, the fund will award a prize of $1,000 to a senior at Webutuck High School based on the quality of a 1,000-word essay. Additional details are online. Submissions are due May 1.
The Andrea Wagner Women in Science Scholarship Fund awards $1,500 scholarships to female residents of northeast Dutchess County who are currently enrolled at a four-year college and majoring in natural or physical science or engineering. Applications are due April 1.
The Ferris Burtis Scholarship Fund sponsors graduating high school seniors who have been accepted at a conservatory or school of music. Grants of $2,000 will be awarded. Applications are due April 1.

 

The Matthew D. Reagon Scholarship Fund awards grants of $1,150 to graduates or graduating seniors of Webutuck High School who attained reasonable academic achievement despite facing adversity. Applications are due April 1.
The Northeast Dutchess Scholarship Fund supports graduating seniors of Dover High School, Millbrook Public High School, Stissing Mountain High School and Webutuck High School. Students will receive $2,500 and may reapply each year for a total of $10,000. Applications are due April 1.

The Rhoda Lubalin Art Scholarship Fund supports graduating seniors of Webutuck Central School who intend to study visual arts at a college or other educational institution. Grants of up to $1,000 will be awarded. Applications are due April 1.
The Tabor Foundation Fund supports residents of northeast Dutchess County who plan to undertake education or training in a field of health care and to seek employment in their community afterwards. Grants of up to $4,000 will be awarded. Applications are due June 30.

 

The Thomas J. Berlinghoff Scholarship Fund awards grants of $1,000 to graduating seniors of Webutuck High School who are attending a college, university or vocational school. Applications are due April 1.
