Brooklyn man charged with DWAI drugs and drug possession

Greenburgh, New York – On March 7, 2017, State Police from Hawthorne arrested 25-year-old Yuyun Chen of Brooklyn, New York, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Operating a Motor Vehicle Impaired by Drugs, a Misdemeanor.
Troopers stopped Chen on the Sprain Brook Parkway for failing to maintain his lane of travel. A subsequent investigation revealed that the defendant was operating the vehicle while he was under the influence of drugs. Chen was additionally found to possess ketamine.
Chen was evaluated by a State Police Drug Recognition Expert who confirmed that he was unable to operate a vehicle safely.
The defendant was issued appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Greenburgh Court on March 23, 2017 at 9:30 a.m.
