SOUL OF EXISTENCE

Works by Jason Bellantoni & John Supple

Jason Bellantoni is a published photographer and painter.  His love for the arts began at a very early age while watching his father in the darkroom create and develop his amazing photographs. Inspired by the artists at Atomic Apricot Studio, Bellantoni began painting in 2010 and has explored the process ever since. Although the majority of his work is abstract using acrylicshe is constantly looking for new mediums with which to express his unique style. He is currently working with resin and fluid techniques. “Through the movement of the paint my goal is to take the viewer on a visual journey and to connect with my work on a deeper inner level.”

Photographer John Supple is presenting his works alongside Mr. Bellantoni. Born and raised in Dublin, Ireland, John has always been interested in capturing the nuances of different subjects in a unique and inspiring way.  As a kid he would always take things apart just to see how something worked.  To this day, John breaks down the “whole” to see its parts and is able to combine effects and subjects, telling stories that are both dramatic and multi-dimensional.  He is currently focusing on a more surreal approach towards his work. “The mundane shall be transformed to a more dreamlike landscape.”  His inspiration is shaped by imagination, dreams, and worldly events. John mostly studied photography from old books in secondhand bookstores always wondering, “How did they do that?” Looking at every detail, shadows, light, poses, composition, etc., Mr. Supple states, “Trial and error is the best teacher.”

About The Town of Southeast Cultural Arts Coalition

The Town of Southeast Cultural Arts Coalition is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to creating and sustaining cultural arts within the Town of Southeast and its surrounding region. TOSCAC was established as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation in August 2010 with the purpose, as detailed in the incorporation papers, “… to promote and raise funds for the development and effective management of affordable, accessible performance space that will provide citizens of the Town of Southeast opportunities to participate in and appreciate cultural arts, including lectures, theater, dance, film, music, visual arts, and inclusive community events.”

Our current focus is the renovation of the Southeast Old Town Hall, a historic landmark within the Village of Brewster and a perfect venue to serve as a cultural hub. The Old Town Hall has been described as a “Jewel in the Center of Brewster” and its renovation will help foster the revitalization of downtown Brewster.
