Vigilant Dover Resident Leads State Police to Burglary Suspects

Dover Plains, New York – On February 20, 2017, the New York State Police at SP Dover Plains arrested 25 year old Dwayne Robbins, 25 year old James D Moore, and 23 year old Kelsey A Vincent all residents of the Town of Dover, New York for their involvement in a Dover Burglary.

On the morning of February 20, 2017, Dutchess County 911 dispatched SP Dover Plains Troopers to a possible burglary in progress on Cooperstown Rd in the Town of Dover. The vigilant resident reported suspicious activity with people entering a residence. The witness reported two males removing items from a residence and place them into a vehicle.

While enroute to the 911 call, Troopers observed a vehicle matching the description on Dover Furnace Rd attempting to turn south onto State Route 22. The three occupants of the vehicle were known to the Troopers and identified as Robbins, Moore, and Vincent. The vehicle in question was later located by State Police at Southeast Auto Recycling in the Town of Dover.

While continuing the investigation it was revealed that the suspects had salvaged the proceeds from the burglary at Southeast Auto Recycling where they were all taken into custody. While on scene, it was determined that the vehicle in question, that was being operated by Vincent; had a Forged 2017 inspection sticker attached to the windshield, switched license plates, no insurance, and that Vincent was operating with a suspended NYS Driver’s license.

Moore, Robbins and Vincent were all charged with Burglary 3rd degree and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd degree, class D felonies. Kelsey Vincent was also charged with Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd degree, a class D felony.

Dwayne Robbins, James D Moore, and Kelsey A Vincent were arraigned in the Town of Dover Court by the Honorable Judge Abrams and remanded to Dutchess County jail in lieu of $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond and scheduled to appear in the Town of Dover Court on March 13, 2017 at 3:00 PM.
