City of Newburgh resident arrested for possession of cocaine with intent to sell

State Police at Montgomery announce the arrest of Andrew I. Ocasio, age 31, from Newburgh, NY on the charges of two counts of Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd, Class B Felony and 2 counts of Criminal Use Drug Paraphernalia, Class A Misdemeanor.New York State Police conducted a vehicle and traffic stop on I-84 eastbound in the Town of Newburgh for Mr. Ocasio failing to wear his seat belt. A probable cause search revealed that Mr. Ocasio was in possession of approximately 17 grams of cocaine, several plastic bags, 2 digital scales, and a glass smoking pipe containing marijuana residue. Mr. Ocasio was also driving with a non-driver ID only and was wanted by New Windsor PD in regards to an active warrant for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 3rd, Unclassified Misdemeanor.

Ocasio was arraigned in the Town of Newburgh Court by Town Justice Richard Clarino who remanded Ocasio to Orange County Jail in lieu of $5000 cash or $5000 bond. Ocasio was ordered to return to Town of Newburgh Court on 02/21/17 at 4:00 PM.
