Beekman, New York – On January 26, 2017, New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested 37-year-old Orianna V. Lord, of Brooklyn, New York, for Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the 2nd Degree, a Class D Felony, Promoting Prison Contraband in the 1St Degree (attempted), a Class D Felony, and Promoting Prison Contraband in the 2nd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.

Lord, who is employed as a Correction Officer at Greenhaven Correctional Facility, was arrested as the result of a joint investigation conducted by the New York State Police and the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Office of Special Investigations.

The investigation indicated that Lord entered Greenhaven Correctional Facility while possessing over 460 grams of marihuana.  The defendant was found to possess the marihuana as Green Haven supervisors were conducting an unannounced screening of employees for contraband as they entered the prison for their scheduled shifts.  After entering the facility, Lord turned around and exited the building but was stopped by a DOCCS supervisor in the facility parking lot where she was found to be in possession of the marihuana.

The defendant was arraigned in the Town of Beekman Court before Town Justice Ferris and subsequently remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.  She is due to appear in the Town of Beekman Court at a later date and time.
