Mahopac Man Charged With Suspended Vehicle Registration

after Patterson accident

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Mahopac man on a charge of driving a vehicle with a suspended registration.

On January 12, 2017 at approximately 9:40 a.m., Deputy Sheriff Francis McDonough responded to a report of a property damage automobile accident on Fox Run Lane in the Town of Patterson. The deputy determined that one of the involved drivers, identified as Mr. Jared Dimaio, aged 31, of 102 Cuddy Road in Mahopac, was driving a car that had a suspended vehicle registration.

The deputy arrested Mr. Dimaio and charged him with Operating a Motor Vehicle While Registration is Suspended, a misdemeanor. The defendant was processed at the scene and released on his own recognizance pending a February 21st appearance in the Town of Patterson Justice Court to answer the charge. If found guilty of the charge, the defendant could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.00.
