Landscape Architect Margie Ruddick to discuss her new book “Wild by Design” at Cary Institute 

On Friday, January 6 at 7 p.m. join the Cary Institute for a presentation by Harvard-trained landscape architect Margie Ruddick. For over thirty years, Ruddick has integrated biodiversity and ecological purpose in her public and private landscape design work.

In her new book, Wild by Design, Ruddick explains the five guiding principles to creating landscapes that are both sustainable and emotionally powerful places: reinvention, restoration, conservation, regeneration, and expression. Her lecture will showcase her projects from New York’s Queens Plaza to Chengdu, China’s Living Water Park. Prepare to be inspired!

Ruddick has taught at Harvard, Yale, Princeton, The University of Pennsylvania, Parsons School of Design, and Schumacher College in England. She is the recipient of several honors, among them the 2013 Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award.
