Saint Albans man charged with Felony Driving While Intoxicated

Claverack, New York – On February 28, 2015, New York State Police from the Livingston barracks charged 34-year-old Damon Neal of St. Albans, New York, with Driving While Intoxicated and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st Degree, both Class E Felonies.

Troopers stopped the vehicle Neal was operating on the Taconic State Parkway for speeding. While speaking with Neal, Troopers detected clues that indicated he was intoxicated at the time of the stop.

After Troopers discovered that Neal’s driving privileges were revoked in New York State due to a 2012 DWI related conviction, he was charged with 1st Degree Aggravated Unlicensed Operation and for failing to utilize an ignition interlock device.

Neal supplied police with a breath sample that yielded a Blood Alcohol Content of .10%. He was arraigned before the Town of Claverack Court and released after he posted $1,000 bail. Neal is scheduled to return to the Town of Claverack Court on March 17, 2015.
