Mahopac Woman Charged With Bail Jumping

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Mahopac woman on a warrant of arrest.

In August of 2016, members of the Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Enforcement Unit (NEU) arrested the subject and charged her with the possession and sale of the prescription medication oxycodone. Subsequent to that arrest, she was committed to the Putnam County Correctional Facility by Town of Southeast Justice Gregory Folchetti on behalf of the Town of Carmel in lieu of $5,000.00 bail. She was later released after posting the bail amount. On November 14, 2016, the defendant failed to appear in the Town of Carmel Justice Court as required by the conditions of her bail agreement. A warrant of arrest was issued for Bail Jumping in the First Degree by Town of Carmel Justice Joseph Spofford directing that the defendant be arrested and brought before the court to answer the previous charges as well as the new offense. On December 20, 2016 at approximately 5:30 p.m., members of the NEUlocated the defendant in Mahopac and took her into custody. Kerry A. Massi, 53, of Curry Road, Mahopac was arraigned before Judge Spofford and committed to the Putnam County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000.00 bail. If found guilty of the felony charge of Bail Jumping in the First Degree, the defendant could face up to seven years in a New York State Correctional Facility and a fine of up to $5,000.00.
