Ruth M. Newell, 95, passed away at the home of her son in Pawling on November 21, 2016; she was 95.
Born in North Arlington, NJ on January 11, 1921, she was the daughter of Harmon Francis Newell and Marie Baum. Ruth was a graduate of the University of Vermont and a member of the Tri Delta Sorority. Ruth enlisted in the US Navy and served as a Wave in WWII.
Before she retired, she was a receptionist for the Mt. Kisco Medical Group in Mt. Kisco, NY.
Up until the age of 92, she enjoyed walking, swimming, nature, and dogs. Prior to coming to Pawling, she had enjoyed attending the Pound Ridge Community Church.
She is survived by her son Thomas Newell Tyler and his wife, Laura, and three step-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were private, under the direction of the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Horn, 83 East Main Street, Pawling.
