Stormville – Stephen J. Brady, 73, an area resident since 1971 and formerly of the Bronx, died on November 10, 2016 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Born in the Bronx on January 23, 1943, he was the son of Patrick and Catherine Dwyer Brady. Stephen proudly served our country in the US Navy. He was the owner and operator of Brady’s Power Equipment in Stormville, and belonged to several business-related organizations. He was also a member of the NRA, and a former member of Whortlekill Rod & Gun Club. He enjoyed spending summers and watching sunsets at his Lake Champlain home in Vergennes, Vermont.

On July 18, 1964 in the Bronx, Stephen married Carolyn Schofield who survives at home. He is also survived by his children, Diane Haight of Poughquag, Stephanie Fiege and husband Ron of Waterford, and Thomas Brady and wife Kerry of Stormville; his grandchildren, Ryan Haight, Brandon and Jessica Fiege, Ethan, Audry and Emily Brady; his siblings and their spouses, Patricia and James McGuire of Levittown, Robert and Betty Brady of Burlington, VT, Mary Jane and John Banyi of Lynch Station, VA, Paul and Donna Brady of Stormville, and Ginny Kulls of White Plains; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his son-in-law, Tal Haight; and his brother-in-law, Bob Kulls.

Stephen was greatly loved and will be missed by his family & friends.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-6pm at 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday at 10am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery with military honors.
