Middletown Troopers Announce Felony Arrests of Newburgh Residents

The New York State Police based in Middletown announce the following arrests for Criminal Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree:

Nascia A. Hinson, age 20 of Newburgh, New York
Amin Hinson, age 39 of Newburgh, New York
Melanie M. Turner, age 34 of Newburgh, New York

Criminal Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree is a Class D Felony.  The charges stemmed from an October 17th, 2016 joint venture between the State Troopers and Orange County Probation at the defendants’ Town of Newburgh residence.  Amin Hinson was arrested on October 17th, 2016 and arraigned in the Town of Wawayanda Court before Town Justice O’Connor.  Judge O’Connor then remanded Amin Hinson to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $15,000 bond.  Melanie Turner was arrested on October 18th, 2016.  Ms. Turner was then arraigned in the Town of Wallkill Court before Town Justice Patrick Owen.  Judge Owen then remanded Melanie Turner to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.

Nascia A. Hinson was arrested on October 28th, 2016 in the City of Newburgh.  While the New York State Police were effecting the arrest of Nascia Hinson, Maikka Powell was also arrested for Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd Degree.  Both Nascia Hinson and Maikka Powell were arraigned before the City of Newburgh Judge E.L. Williams.  Judge Williams remanded both Nascia Hinson and Maikka Powell to the Orange County Jail in lieu of cash bail.
