Identity Theft Suspect Apprehended by Montgomery Troopers

State Police at Montgomery announce the arrest of Michael N. Sep, age 59, of Brewster, NY.  Mr. Sep was charged with Petit Larceny, (Class A Misdemeanor) and Identity Theft in the 2nd Degree, (Class E Felony).

State Police at Montgomery received a complaint of identity theft from a Montgomery resident.  It was determined that a fraudulent charge was made on the credit card of the Montgomery resident.  Investigation revealed that a fraudulent purchase of a lap top on line was being shipped to the WalMart in Newburgh.  State Troopers alerted WalMart security, who apprehended Mr. Sep when he arrived at WalMart to pick up the lap top.

Michael N. Sep was processed through the Montgomery Barracks and issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Montgomery Court on November 2, 2016 at 4:30 pm to answer to the aforementioned charges.
