Freeport man charged with possessing forged instruments

Wappinger, New York – On October 14, 2016, the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Wappinger barracks arrested Floyd A. Harris, age 58, of Freeport, New York, for Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the 2nd Degree, a Class D Felony.
On October 14, 2016, Troopers were dispatched to the Bank of America located on Route 9 for a fraud complaint. An investigation revealed that Harris attempted to cash a $1600 counterfeit check at the bank and possessed a counterfeit driver’s license under a different name.
Floyd was arraigned at the Town of Wappinger Court and was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail with no bail. Harris’ next court appearance was scheduled for October 18, 2016, at 5:00 PM.
