LaGrange parolee arrested for possessing loaded handgun subsequent to home visit

LaGrange, New York – On October 12, 2016, New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested 39-year-old Lawrence Taylor, or LaGrange, New York, for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, a Class C Felony.

At approximately 9:00 p.m., Troopers were dispatched to Hudson River Housing to assist New York State Parole Officers with a parolee in possession of a firearm.  Parole officers conducting a home visit at Taylor’s residence, located a loaded Smith and Wesson .32 caliber revolver.

Taylor was arraigned before Town Justice Hayes in the Town of LaGrange Court subsequent to the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision issuing a warrant ordering his arrest.  The defendant was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail and is scheduled to reappear in LaGrange Court on October 18, 2016 at 5:00 p.m.
