Obituary, George M. Eisenhut, Sr.

 

BEEKMAN – George M. Eisenhut, Sr., 98, an area resident since 1951 and formerly of Brooklyn, died peacefully on September 27, 2016 at his son’s home surrounded by his family.

Born in Brooklyn on July 21, 1918, he was the son of Henry and Anna (Schneider) Eisenhut. George proudly served our country as a Gunner Corporal in the US Army during World War II. He was the owner and operator of George’s Texaco in Beekman, and enjoyed bowling, fishing and golfing.

George was predeceased by his wife Marie (Reyer). He is survived by his children, Catherine Eisenhut of Hopewell Junction, Barbara Eisenhut of Hopewell Junction, and George Eisenhut and his wife Lynne of Dover Plains; his grandchildren, Robin Boniello, Jessica Dively, and Gregory Eisenhut; and his great-grandchildren, Vera, Charlie, Logan and Owen.
