Fugitive Apprehended in Amenia

Amenia, NY – On September 3, 2016, the New York State Police from the Dover Plains barracks investigated a domestic dispute in the Town of Northeast, Dutchess County, NY.

As a result of this investigation, an arrest warrant was issued by the Town of Northeast Court ordering the arrest of Raymond C. Sprague III, age 28, on charges of Criminal Mischief 3rd, a class E felony, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th, Menacing 2nd, and Criminal Trespass 2nd, class A misdemeanors.

On September 26, 2016, the Connecticut State Police from the Troop B Cannan barracks investigated an additional dispute involving Sprague, which occurred in the Town of Sharon, Litchfield County.  As a result of the second incident, Connecticut State Police obtained an arrest warrant for Raymond Sprague on assault related charges.

On September 28, 2016, the pursuing joint investigation between Connecticut State Police and the New York State Police led to Sprague being located at a residence in the Town of Amenia where he was apprehended.

Sprague was arraigned in the Town of Northeast Court before Hon. Casey McCabe T/J and subsequently remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.  Sprague is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Northeast Court on September 30.  The Connecticut arrest warrant has been lodged with the Dutchess County Jail.
