Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation Awards $769,000 in Fall Grants Cycle

Sheffield, Mass. — The board of directors of Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation today announced the recipients of the third round of grantmaking for 2016. The foundation distributed a total of $50,134 in grants to individuals and nonprofits in the four-county region it serves and grants totaling nearly $720,000 from donors with charitable funds at the foundation.
In Dutchess County, the foundation awarded $8,000 from the Tabor Foundation Fund to two residents who plan to undertake education or training in a field of health care and seek employment in their community afterwards: Melissa Green of Poughquag to pursue a bachelor’s in diagnostic medical sonography from Adventist University of Health Sciences; and Lorna Kessler of Amenia to pursue an associate’s degree in nursing at Columbia-Greene Community College.
