East Fishkill woman charged with felony drug possession and DWI following 911 broadcast for an erratically operated vehicle

East Fishkill, New York – On September 19, 2016, New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested 40-year-old Lisa A. Cortina of East Fishkill, New York, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree, a Class B Felony, Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, a Class E Felony, and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana.

On September 19, 2016 at approximately 8:31 p.m., Dutchess County 911 broadcasted an erratic vehicle complaint.  Troopers located the vehicle described by 911 and conducted a traffic stop in the area of Old Hopewell Road and Presidential Way.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as Cortina, was discovered to be impaired by drugs at the time of the traffic stop.  An investigation also revealed that Cortina was in possession of several Ziploc bags that contained marihuana, Oxycodone, and Alprazolam.

Cortina was charged with Felony DWAI Drugs when a criminal history revealed a previous DWI related conviction from 2009.

The defendant was arraigned in the Town of East Fishkill Court by Town Justice Frederick Romig and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $7,500 cash bail or $15,000 bond. Cortina is scheduled to reappear in the Town of East Fishkill Court on September 22, 2016 at 5:00 pm.
