Yonkers man arrested following domestic incident in Beekman

PRESS RELEASE

Beekman, New York – On September 10, 2016, New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested 40-year-old Shane Perkins of Yonkers, New York, for Criminal Contempt in the 1st Degree, a Class E Felony.

At approximately 8:12 p.m., Troopers were dispatched to a Hibiscus Circle home for a reported physical domestic disturbance.  A Good Samaritan contacted 911 for police assistance when she witnessed Perkins engaging in a verbal dispute with the victim and then drag her toward a wooded area.

With the assistance of the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, Perkins was located in the area of Vista Way and was placed in custody.  Perkins was charged with Criminal Contempt in the 1st Degree when it was discovered that he violated an active court order of protection by having physical contact with the victim.

Perkins was arraigned in the Town of Beekman Court by Judge Ferris and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.  He is scheduled to return to the Beekman Justice Court on September 22, 2016.
