State Police investigate one-car fatal crash in Harrison

Harrison, New York – On September 8, 2016 at approximately 11:04 a.m., New York State Police from the Somers barracks responded to the area of mile post marker 1.6 on Interstate 684 for a one-car motor vehicle collision.

An investigation revealed that a 1999 Mitsubishi Montero operated by Jose A. Catala, age 65, of Yonkers, New York, was traveling southbound on I684 in the left lane.  Mr. Catala suddenly exited the roadway off of the right-hand shoulder and entered a wooded area where the vehicle overturned.  Catala was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.

The State Police were assisted by the Purchase Fire Department, Harrison EMS, and the Westchester County Medical Examiner’s Office.
