Carmel Man Charged With Burglary

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Carmel man on a charge of burglary.

On August 29, 2016, a burglary was reported at the Xclusive Cuts establishment located at 880 South Lake Boulevard in Mahopac. An investigation revealed that entry had been gained through a side door and money was stolen from the cash register and workstation cubby.

As a result of the investigation, Armando L. Cass, 44, of 3 Indian Avenue, Carmel was developed as a suspect. On September 6, 2016, investigators from the Sheriff’s Department Bureau of Investigation executed a search warrant on Mr. Cass’ vehicle and residence. The investigators arrested Mr. Cass and charged him with Burglary in the Third Degree and with Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree, felonies.

If found guilty of the felony charges , the defendant could face up to seven years in a New York State Correctional Facility and a fine of up to $5,000.00.
