Westchester Man Charged With Unlicensed Operation

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Westchester County man on a charge of unlicensed operation.

On August 31, 2016 at approximately 1:00 a.m., Deputy Sheriff William Verrastro stopped a motorist who had committed a traffic violation on Gallows Hill Road in the Town of Philipstown. The deputy determined that the driver, identified as Robert J. Toub III, 23, of 279 Millington Road, Cortlandt Manor, New York held a suspended license. The deputy arrested Mr. Toub and charged him with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the Third Degree, a misdemeanor. The defendant was released in his own recognizance pending a September 19, 2016 appearance in the Town of Philipstown Justice Court to answer the charge.

If found guilty of the misdemeanor charge, the defendant could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.00.
