Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Carmel man on a charge of Grand Larceny.

On August 30, 2016 at 1:41 p.m., Deputy Sheriff Robert Hudson responded to a larceny complaint at 1335 Route 6 in the Town of Carmel. The complainant at that location had reported that her son had stolen her credit card, which she subsequently recovered in her son’s room. The son, identified as Ryan T. McKeown, 23, of that address, was located on location. Mr. McKeown admitted to having stolen the credit card. The deputy arrested Mr. McKeown and charged him with Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, a felony. The defendant was arraigned before Town of Patterson Justice Anthony Mole and committed to the Putnam County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,500.00 cash bail or $3,000.00 bond pending a future appearance in the Town of Carmel Justice Court to answer the charge.

If found guilty of the felony charge, the defendant could face up to four years in a New York State Correctional Facility and a fine of up to $5,000.00.
