Statement from County Executive Marcus J. Molinaro
in observance of Labor Day

This Monday, we celebrate Labor Day, a day set aside to honor the men and women who contribute to the many economic and social accomplishments that make our country proud. Dutchess County is a great place to live, work, and raise a family, in part because of the ongoing contributions of our county workforce. I am continuously grateful for the dedicated and hard-working employees of Dutchess County Government who go above and beyond to meet the needs of our residents. While many of us will be enjoying the day off from work, it should not go unrecognized that many of our county employees will spend the day providing critical services to the public by patrolling our streets and facilities, safeguarding our children and our community, and dispatching resources and services for 911 emergency and HELPLINE calls.

As you enjoy the long weekend, don’t forget about the many offerings available in Dutchess County, including our beautiful parks! Whether it’s enjoying the spectacular views of the Hudson River at Quiet Cove Riverfront Park or cheering on our first place Hudson Valley Renegades at Dutchess Stadium; I wish all Dutchess County residents a safe, relaxing and pleasant holiday—and thank our taxpayers for their commitment to and support of our great community.”
