NEW MILFORD CT- John Kane, Wendy Carlson and their two sons, Tristan and James make art a true family affair in their upcoming show entitled, “The Four of Us” at The Silo Gallery from August 20 through October 2nd.    The show will kick off with an opening reception – free to the public – on Saturday, August 20th from 1–3pm.   The event features live music and light refreshments.

The gallery is open to the public, free of charge, Wednesday through Saturday, 10–5pm; Sunday 12–5 pm.

The Kane family, which lives on Mabel’s Hollow Farm, just down the winding dirt road from The Silo, has combined their perspectives, talents and energy to this multi-generational show featuring photography, graphic arts and music.  John and Wendy are both accomplished and widely published photographers whose work is in private and museum galleries.

Their son, Tristan, attends the Art Institute of Chicago where he is studying visual arts.

And James, a senior at New Milford High School, plays guitar.

The family’s diverse works explore many themes including the human form, the untouched, rustic countryside and fanciful visual iconography.

Hunt Hill Farm is the former estate of Ruth and Skitch Henderson, founders of the New York Pops, operating now as a nonprofit organization whose mission is to cultivate love of land, food and the arts.  Home to the renowned Silo Cooking School, the property is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  The converted barns and stables are surrounded by hundreds of acres of open space, active farmlands, stonewalls and woodlands – a unique venue for weddings, showers, holiday parties and business meetings and retreats.
