Southeast, New York – On August 6, 2016 at approximately 2:25 p.m., New York State Police from the East Fishkill barracks responded to investigate a one-car auto collision that occurred in the area of mile post marker 69.7 westbound Interstate 84.

An investigation revealed that 25-year-old Araceli Rodriguez, of Shelton, Connecticut, was traveling westbound on I84 in the left hand lane.  The driver attempted to change lanes and lost control of the vehicle.  The 2006 Kia exited the left shoulder of the roadway and overturned after striking an earth embankment.

Rodriguez and her two children, a two-year-old daughter and a two month old son, were transported to Danbury Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The State Police were assisted by Brewster Fire Department.
