Marie Margaret “Peggy” Liberati, 84, a long-time resident of Yonkers and Pawling, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital, Poughkeepsie, NY.

Peggy was born in Yonkers on March 18, 1932 to the late James and Laura Carnicelli.  She worked for many years as a graphic designer for The Guide in Brewster, and she loved doing crafts, especially crocheting, cross stitch, and painting.  She loved plants, flowers, and watching the wildlife in her backyard, and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends.  She was a very devout Catholic, her religion being a very important part of her life.

She is survived by two sons, James Liberati of Poughkeepsie and Dominick (Dawn) Santariga of Long Beach Island, NJ; a daughter, Lisa (Nicholas) Pfister of Dover Plains, a sister, Marcella Vitulli of Manahawkin, NJ; six grandchildren, Nicholas & Adam, Nicholas & Loren, and Melissa & Dominick; and several nieces and nephews.

Peggy is predeceased by her husband,Vincent Liberati who passed away March 13, 2005, a daughter, Ellen Santariga who passed in 1973, and a brother, Ralph Carnicelli.

Friends may call at the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling Saturday, July 9th 9-11 AM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM at St. John’s Church, Pawling.  Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
