Pine Bush man dies in single motorcycle accident after fleeing police.

On 07/05/16, the New York State Police, Highland BCI was called to assist the Town of Newburgh Police Department with a motorcycle accident investigation which resulted in the death of 22 year old Ryan M. Dinonno, of Pine Bush, NY. 

At approximately 9:22pm on 07/05/16, an Officer in a marked unit from the Town of Newburgh Police Department observed Dinonno traveling at a high rate of speed while operating a 1997 Kawasaki motorcycle without a helmet on State Route 32 in the Town of Newburgh, NY. The Officer activated his lights and siren in an attempt to stop Dinonno, but Dinonno failed to comply and continued west on Route 300 and then north onto Orchard Drive into the Town of Plattekill, Ulster County.  The officer lost sight of Dinonno on Orchard Drive and then ultimately came accross the scene of an accident at a sharp curve on Orchard Drive.  Dinonno lost control of his motorcycle which resulted in serious internal injuries. Resuscitative efforts were made by Officers at the scene and continued throughout his transport to St. Lukes Hospital in Newburgh, NY, where he was ultimately pronounced deceased. The accident investigation is still ongoing.

The New York State Police at Highland were assisted by SP Montgomery, the Town of Newburgh Police Department, the Town of Plattekill Police Department and the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office.
