PRESS RELEASE

07/02/16 – The New York State Police, Highland BCI announce the arrest of 30 year old Joseph A. Sucato, of Hyde Park, NY, for Sexual Abuse in the First Degree (a class D felony), Endangering the Welfare of a Child (a class A misdemeanor), Criminal Contempt in the First Degree and Aggravated Family Offense (both being class E felonies).

On 06/30/16, the New York State Police – Highland BCI in conjunction with efforts from SP Somers BCI, concluded an investigation into a report that Sucato had recently sexually abused an 11 year old female while she was asleep. The female victim was the daughter of an acquaintance of Sucato’s who resided in the Town of Hyde Park, in Dutchess County, which is also where the incident was found to have occurred. Furthermore, at the time of commission, Sucato was under the restriction of an active order of protection that protected the female victim and her family. Sucato was arrested and subsequently charged with Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Criminal Contempt in the First Degree and Aggravated Family Offense which stemmed from prior qualifying family offense conviction that Sucato had received previously.

Sucato was arraigned in the Town Hyde Park Court and subsequently remanded to Dutchess County Jail on $75,000 cash/ $100,000 bond. Sucato is due re-appear in the Town Hyde Park Court on 07/05/16 at 6pm.
