Fishkill, New York – On June 24, 2016, New York State Police from the East Fishkill barracks arrested Robert Bishop, 37 years old, of New Britain, Connecticut, for three counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, a Class C Felony, two counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree, a Class E Felony, and Driving While Intoxicated, an unclassified Misdemeanor.

Troopers stopped a westbound Hyundai Sonata on Interstate 84 for speeding.  The driver, identified as Bishop, was arrested after police determined that he was intoxicated at the time of the traffic stop.  A subsequent investigation revealed that Bishop unlawfully possessed three loaded handguns.  Two of the handguns recovered by police were reported stolen to authorities in North Carolina.

Bishop was arraigned in the City of Beacon Justice Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.  He is due to appear in the Fishkill Justice Court at a later date and time.
