Two NYC Residents Arrested for Criminal Possession

of a Forged Instrument

PRESS RELEASE

On June 21, 2016, the New York State Police at Wurtsboro arrested DONTA DOUGLAS, age 27, of Manhattan, NY and DREW D SAUNDERS, age 19, of Bronx, NY for 61 counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the Second Degree (Class D Felony).

DOUGLAS and SAUNDERS were stopped on State Route 17 in the Town of Mamakating for traffic infractions. During the stop DOUGLAS was found to have a suspended license.  A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded 61 fraudulent credit cards, numerous blank credit cards, and a magnetic credit card encoder.  Investigation is continuing and additional charges are pending.

DOUGLAS and SAUNDERS were arraigned before Town of Mamakating Justice Cynthia Dolan and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail.
