URI student Brandon Pettit of Patterson
named a 2016 Orientation Team member
KINGSTON, RI (06/22/2016)– The University of Rhode Island recently selected Brandon Pettit of Patterson, NY, and 39 other students to be part of the 2016 Orientation Team. Pettit, who is studying supply chain management and Chinese, has been chosen for the Orientation Leader role.
A highly competitive position and unique leadership opportunity, URI’s Orientation Team members serve as ambassadors to incoming students and families. They facilitate workshops and information sessions related to URI’s academics, social environment and culture. The team helps with all aspects of the summer program including academic advising, workshop presentations, and URI’s unique theatrical productions.
The goal of URI’s orientation program is to welcome new students and their families to the University community and to start them along a path to success. The Orientation Team represents URI’s diverse and enthusiastic community of learners.
The University of Rhode Island’s pioneering research extends the University’s influence well beyond its coastal borders, while its unique interdisciplinary courses provide its 16,637 undergraduate and graduate students with global opportunities in an intimate environment. In May 2016, more than 3,200 undergraduate and about 620 graduate degrees were awarded. The University now has more than 120,000 alumni worldwide.
