MAHOPAC – Michael Bongiovanni A 14-year-old boy who was struck by a car while riding a skateboard earlier this week, has died.
Bongiovanni was riding a skateboard last Monday south on Brookside Road in the town of Carmel when he rode through a stop sign and was struck shortly before 6 p.m.
A 55-year-old Mahopac woman driving west struck Bongiovanni. The driver has not been charged.
Bongiovanni was not wearing a helmet.
Police who arrived on scene found neighbors performing CPR on the boy, who was unresponsive.
Bongiovanni was flown to Westchester Medical Center and placed on life support.
