Troopers arrest Wurtsboro man for cashing stolen checks

PRESS RELEASE

The New York State Police at Wurtsboro announce the arrest of Michael A. Cassaro, age 31, of Wurtsboro for Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd, a felony and Falsifying Business Records 2nd, Possession of Stolen Property and Petit Larceny, all misdemeanors.

The arrest resulted from a complainant reporting that someone had cashed two credit card checks without permission or consent. The investigation determined that the same individual had cashed a check on two different occasions at the Chase Bank in Wurtsboro for a total of $1,250.00.

Cassaro was arraigned in front of Town of Mamakating Town Justice Joel Welsh and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail on no bail. He is scheduled to return to the Town of Mamakating court on 02/25/15.
