Massachusetts man charged with felony drug possession following traffic stop

New Lebanon, New York – On June 8, 2016, New York State Police from the New Lebanon barracks charged 25-year-old William T. Puzo of Worcester, Massachusetts, with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th Degree, a Class C Felony, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, Class A Misdemeanors, and Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the 5th Degree, a Class B Misdemeanor.

Troopers stopped Puzo on State Route 22 for failing to give sufficient notice of his intent to turn onto State Route 22 from Route 20.  Subsequent investigation conducted by the arresting officer revealed that Puzo unlawfully possessed approximately 5 grams of cocaine, Lorazepam pills, Vyvanse pills and approximately 31 grams of marihuana.  Puzo was additionally charged with possessing Lorazepam and Vyvanse outside of their original containers, a violation under the New York Public Health Law.

Puzo was arraigned in the Town of New Lebanon Court before the Honorable Jessica Byrne and remanded to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
