PRESS RELEASE

Beacon, New York – On June 6, 2016, New York State Police from the East Fishkill Barracks arrested David D. McCarthy, age 59, of Montgomery, New York, for Driving While Intoxicated, a Class E Felony, due to a previous DWI related conviction within the preceding 10 years.

Troopers were contacted by a Good Samaritan who reported that there was a man driving a red Buick on Interstate 84 who appeared to be drinking a beer while he was driving.  The suspect vehicle was stopped on I84 and the driver of the vehicle, McCarthy, was found to be intoxicated at the time of the traffic stop.

The defendant provided a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .09% and arraigned in the Town of Fishkill Justice Court.  McCarthy was released on his own recognizance and directed to appear in the City of Beacon Court on
June 15, 2016.
