Town of Olive man arrested for Burglary

PRESS RELEASE

On May 27, 2016 the New York State Police – Bureau of Criminal Investigation at SP Kingston arrested MICHAEL E. MCCALLION, age 31 of Shokan, NY for Burglary Second degree. (Class C felony)

SP Kingston Troopers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on State Route 28 in Shokan, NY. Upon arrival Troopers located the vehicle near the complainant’s residence and interviewed driver of the vehicle, MICHAEL E. MCCALLION, regarding his purpose for being at the location. MCCALLION claimed he was attempting to sell a chainsaw to the complainant. Upon further investigation, Troopers determined the chainsaw was stolen from a near by residence owned by an acquaintance of MCCALLION. After interviewing the acquaintance it was discovered that MCCALLION entered the residence without permission and stole the chainsaw with the intention of sell it.

MCCALLION was charged with Burglary in the Second degree, arraigned in the Town of Olive Court, and remanded to Ulster County Jail on $5,000 cash bail pending a future court appearance.
