Port Ewen man arrested for Endangering the Welfare of a Child, felony marijuana possession and felony possession an assault rifle.

On May 25th, 2016, New York State Police patrols responded to an Ulster County 911 poll for a partially naked 2 year old child wondering around in the area of Route 9W in Port Ewen, NY. Police investigation found that the child was the 3 year old daughter of Lashawn J. Brickhouse and that Brickhouse was asleep in his residence until summonsed to answer his door by police. Upon contact with Brickhouse, it was found that there was evidence of marijuana possession and use within his residence. Brickhouse was initially arrested for Endangering the Welfare of a Child (a class A misdemeanor) and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana (a violation). Then through efforts from State Police Kingston BCI and State Police Highland BCI, a search warrant was obtained and executed on Brickhouse’s residence which yielded the discovery of approximately 2 pounds of marijuana and an assault rifle, both of which were found to be unlawfully possessed by Brickhouse. Brickhouse was additionally charged with Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree (both of which are class D felonies).

Brickhouse was arraigned before Judge Grieco of Esopus Court and subsequently remanded to Ulster County Jail on $10,000 cash/ $20,000 bond and is set to return to Esopus Town Court on 05/31/16 at 5pm.
