Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Danbury man on a Driving While Intoxicated charge.

On May 21, 2016 at 2:27 a.m., Deputy Sheriff Kevin Radovich stopped a motorist who committed traffic violations on Route 6 in the Town of Southeast. The deputy determined that the driver, identified as Raymond R. Cesarski, 39, of 15 Walnut Street, Danbury, Connecticut was intoxicated. The deputy arrested Mr. Cesarski and charged him with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, a misdemeanor, after the man failed a series of standardized field sobriety tests. The defendant was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and released to a third party after posting $250.00 cash bail pending a future appearance in the Town of Southeast Justice Court to answer the charge.

If found guilty of the misdemeanor charge, the defendant could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.00.
