Obituary, Ronald (Sugarboy) Williams

 

Millbrook – Ronald (Sugarboy) Williams, 68, a longtime resident of Millbrook, NY passed away quietly at Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, NY on May 16, 2016.

Ronald was born on October 15, 1947 in Beacon, NY to the late Ulyses Williams and Dollie Mae Williams. He accepted Christ at a young age at Beulah Baptist Church in Wappingers Falls, NY, where he and his brothers the William Brothers sang, he was lead singer.

He was employed as a Correctional Officer at the Fishkill Correctional Facility for 25 years. He served his country in the Navy and received an honorable discharge, he also served in the Navy Reserves. Ronald was an avid football fan. He loved and enjoyed watching boxing and enjoyed playing his harmonica.

He leaves to cherish his memory and follow his legacy of singing; his daughters, Alexia and Julia Williams both of Millbrook, NY, Holly Williams and Tamonique Moody both of Poughkeepsie, NY; 4 grandchildren, Calvin McCantis, Sierra Johnson, Q’ian Moody and Snionne Williams all of Poughkeepsie, NY; one sister, Mamie Smith of Poughkeepsie, NY and a host of nieces and nephews.

Ronald is predeceased by 3 brothers, Richard, Bennie, and Eugene Williams.

Mr. Williams will repose 10-11 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2016 at Beulah Baptist Church, 92 Catharine St., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Rev. Jesse V. Bottoms Jr. will officiate. Service at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment at Wappingers Rural Cemetery w/Full Military Honors, Wappingers Falls, NY.
