Yorktown Man Charged With DWI

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Yorktown man on a DWI charge.

On May 14, 2016 at 2:22 a.m., Deputy Sheriff Jonathan Irwin observed a motorist driving in an erratic manner on Route 6 in Mahopac, and initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle. The deputy determined that the driver, identified as Patrik Bores, 32, of 1916 Baldwin Road, Yorktown was intoxicated. The deputy arrested Mr. Bores and charged him with Driving While Intoxicated, a misdemeanor, after the man failed a series of standardized field sobriety tests. During the arrest, the deputy determined that Mr. Bores was in possession of a quantity of marijuana. The deputy additionally charged the man with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation. The defendant was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and held pending arraignment.

If found guilty of the misdemeanor charge, the defendant could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.00.
