Misconduct following lengthy joint investigation

Bedford, New York – On May 4, 2016, New York State Police from the Somers barracks arrested 49-year-old Daniel Oliver, of Ballston Spa, New York, for Official Misconduct, a Class A Misdemeanor.

Oliver, formerly employed as a Correction Officer at Taconic Correctional Facility in Bedford, New York, was arrested as a result of a ten month long joint investigation conducted with the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Office of Special Investigations.  An investigation revealed that Oliver had inappropriate relationships with two female inmates confined to the prison.

Oliver was arraigned in the Town of Bedford Justice Court where he was released after posting $200 bail. His next court appearance is scheduled for June 27, 2016 at the Town of Bedford Justice Court.

The State Police were assisted by the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Office of Special Investigations.
