Bridge Replacement Work on Hibernia Road in Clinton

to Begin Next Week

Poughkeepsie…The Dutchess County Department of Public Works (DPW) has announced work is expected to begin the week of May 16th to replace Bridge C-31 on Hibernia Road in the Town of Clinton. The bridge, located east of the Taconic State Parkway between Clinton Corners Road (CR 13) and NYS Route 82 over the East Branch of the Wappinger Creek, is in need of replacement due to significant structural deficiencies.  Project work includes the replacement of the existing bridge and abutments as well as the approach pavement and the addition of new bridge rail. Bridge C-31 averages more than 200 vehicles per day.

Hibernia Road will remain closed to through traffic and a detour route will be posted. Residents will continue to have access to their properties along Hibernia Road throughout the construction process. Project work is anticipated to be complete in the fall.
