Wallkill Woman Arrested for Narcotics Possession

and Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs

05/10/16 – The New York State Police, Highland BCI announce the arrest of 29 year old Emily J. Rivero-Ramos for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree (a class C felony), five counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree (a class A misdemeanor) and Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs (a Vehicle and Traffic Law misdemeanor).

On 05/09/16, patrols from the New York State Police at Highland conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Emily J. Rivero-Ramos for failing to use the designated lane and failure to keep right which occurred in the Town of Plattekill on State Route 44/55. Upon interview and completion of a field sobriety test, Rivero-Ramos was found to be under the influence of drugs. Rivero-Ramos also was found to be in unlawful possession of a quantity of Alprazolam, Vicodin, Trazadone and Hydrocodone, all of which were classified as controlled substances.  Rivero-Ramos was processed for arrest at SP Highland on DWAI-Drugs, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th and 7th Degrees.

Rivero-Ramos was arraigned before Judge Murphy in the Town of Plattekill Justice Court and subsequently released on her own recognizance.
