“AS THE WARM WEATHER APPROACHES, PLEASE REMEMBER TO BE MINDFUL OF YOUR ATTIRE. THIS INCLUDES BOTH GENDERS. ALL STUDENTS ATTENDING DOVER HIGH SCHOOL SHOULD ADHERE TO THE DRESS CODE.”

1. Today is a “B” Day.

2. A representative from Lincoln Tech will be visiting Thursday during lunches. Please stop by to see the representative.

3. The library will be closed tomorrow it is open today but only to sign out books.

4. SAT Word of the Day: CLANDESTINE  – The word means secret.

5. Music Man – Full cast rehearsal today! We will be working on choreo, vocals, and blocking. See you all after school from 2-5 pm! Let’s pull this town together!

6. Do you have old t-shirts you no longer wear? During these warmer months, the Senior Honor Society is in search of clean t-shirts to donate to those in need. Donation boxes can be located in the high school lobby, Ms. Murray’s room, and the dining hall from May 9th until May 20th. Please donate!

7. Anyone in need of community service and would like to participate in Grim Reaper Day please see Ms. Mangar.

8.  Student Council packets are due today!!!

9. The following middle school classrooms are in the lead for Box Tops: 6th grade Armstrong, 7th grade Kenny, 8th grade Esposito – bring your box tops by the end of May if you would link a chance for your homeroom to win a breakfast.

10. The Music Boosters are sponsoring an art contest to design the new Dover Music logo. The winner will receive a free shirt and a $50 gift card. The contest is open to all 6th through 12th grade students. Entries must be received by June 2nd. See a music teacher or art teacher for an entry form.

11. Attention all Sophomore and Juniors – Summer Scholar applications are now available in the high school guidance office. Summer Scholars is a summer program offered at Dutchess Community College from July 31st to August 5th. The program title “Global Terrorism: Causes and Consequences” is designed to challenge high school students. If you are interested in this program, please come to the guidance office to pick up an application packet. Applications are due in the guidance office by Wednesday, June 1st – NO EXCEPTIONS – so plan accordingly.

12. Do you want to make a difference to someone in need? Make a Bonnie Box! A Bonnie Box is a creative way to help cancer patients get through chemo. Fill a shoe box with little gifts such as mints, dark chocolate, crossword puzzles, lip balm, etc. For questions or to help out see Ms. Murray or Bree Pileggi.

13. Attention all middle school students! Come to the last activity night of the year on May 13th! Get ready to dance the night away and play dodgeball with your friends. It will be from 6:30-9 pm and the cost is $5 at the door.
