Two New Jersey Residents Arrested for Drug Possession

PRESS RELEASE

On May 5, 2016, the New York State Police arrested two New Jersey residents for possession of more than 320 grams of heroin following a traffic stop conducted on the New York State Thruway, Interstate-87, in the Town of New Baltimore, Greene County.

While on patrol, Thruway Albany troopers conducted a traffic stop on a 2003 Cadillac Deville for failing to maintain its lane and traveling at a low speed on the New York State Thruway northbound in the Town of New Baltimore. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in finding the passengers in the vehicle having approximately 320 grams of heroin.  The heroin was individually packaged into 1300 dosage units, which has a total street value of more than $15,000 dollars.

As a result, the following individuals were arrested:

Vanessa Deleon, age 31, of Clifton, NJ, for 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (both B Felonies), Unlawful Possession of Marihuana (a Violation) as well as multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law charges.

Rafael Santos-Martinez, age 40, of Paterson, NJ for 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (both B Felonies).

Both subjects were arraigned in New Baltimore Town Court and remanded to the Greene County Jail on $100,000 Cash Bail / $200,000 Secured Bond.
