State Police arrest Ulster County man for Rape

On May 5, 2016, The Ulster County Family and Child Advocacy Center which is comprised of member’s from the New York State Police, Ulster County Sheriff’s Office, Child Protective Services and the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office announce the arrest of JUSTIN ROSS for Rape in the Second Degree, two counts of Sexual Misconduct and two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

The Ulster County Family and Child Advocacy Center completed an investigation of sexual contact between the defendant and a child less than 15 years old which resulted in the arrest of ROSS, age 20, of Saugerties, NY.  The child and ROSS are known to each other.  Further investigation found that the suspect also engaged in sexual contact with a second victim who was also known to him.

ROSS was arrested at the SP Kingston barracks and was arraigned in front of Town of Saugerties Justice Daniel Lamb who remanded ROSS to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of  $10,000 cash or $25,000 property bond.  He was ordered to return to the Village of Saugerties Court on May 9, 2016 at 6:00pm.     Ross was additionally issued and order of protection preventing any contact with the victim.  The case was turned over to the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office Special Victims Unit.
